I agree. We all know Rocky V never happened. We didn't really get anything else out of this one. Maybe something like picketing the movie studio to get a box set of only I-IV released would have been better.

Again, these things must be classics for the few friends that are in them every time, but to the average SG reader it's just getting out of control. I wonder how much say he even has in them. I liked the Bonds one and Halftime Show, but I'm agreeing with friskys...this Never Happened.

What i have noticed the better cartoons are the ones where they are a new idea. The ones like that have taken off from past column ideas struggle because he does a much better job of writing about it then coming up with a cartooon about it. I thought what showed that the best was the card one. The idea was funny when he wrote about it, but the cartoon was awful.

My recommendation would be for him to work on more cartoons that are just far fetched and he has not wrote about before. But then again not everybody who has seen the cartoons have read all of his columns. So really I have no point.

Rocky V was recently on tv....hbo or something....I had to watch it since it had been forever since I had seen it.

A couple of things.

1.) Tommy Morrison, a real heavy weight fighter, played "Tommy Gunn". He has since contracted HIV, spent time in jail, and cut the mullet.
2.) Kevin Connelly plays a bully in the movie. It might not suprise you, but he hasn't grown since.

I ended up catching part of it not too long ago as well. I had stayed away from it for so long that a bunch of stuff really surprised me. I had forgotten how young Tommy Morrison was (and how bad of an actor). I had also forgotten that the movie plays out like a jihad against Don King.

I guess it doesn't really matter though... because, as we all know, the movie doesn't exist. Can you believe that it was 15 years ago?

As far as I'm concerned, most of these cartoons "never happened." I would comment on this cartoon but then I would be acknowledging that it actually happened.
