Ah, reminds me a bit of the good ol' days.

If the Sports Gal is still making him Rice Krispie treats, then his divorce-o-meter can't be that high.

Not to toot my own horn but Simmons has got to be reading this site. I mentioned that there haven't been any ramblings for some time...and what happens? He writes a column right after the Super Bowl week.

One beef: He called Lindsay Lohan losing weight a problem? I don't quite see that.

But who can argue with the shitty maintenence of the greens? I certainly can't.

Fantastic ramblings...

Count me in among those annoyed by Steve Young induction.

I hate it that the OC is like 2 or 3 weeks behind here. Last chapter aired here ended when Marissa stared awkardly at the purple haired girl (forgot her name again, sorry) foreshadowing...stuff I already read on this site. :x

I think Simmons is more into Escape from New York than myself. "The name?s Plissken..."

IMO, I don?t think Jeffrey Jones is that awfull...the scenes between him and the secretary are hilarious.

He's not upset about Jones' acting, but rather that Jones' child pornography fetish allegations make it hard to look at him as an "innocent bumbler" on the screen.

Got it now Tank, thanks.

Man, I didn?realized those sex charges were about child pornography. Is that why he was on the Smoking Gun? I thought it was for something rather light, not for something that serious.

Yup, fraid so. He's now a registered sex offender. He pleaded no contest to the charges.

"This is the same franchise that 15 years ago was owned by Victor Kiam and had a roster of four quarterbacks: a frightened Tony Eason, a decrepit Steve Grogan, a talentless Marc Wilson and a 5-foot 7-inch Doug Flutie. It's completely unfathomable how far they have come. It's the equivalent of waking up 15 years from now and discovering that Bangladesh is a military and economic superpower."

This was my favorite Simmons in a while, tons of those one-liners that you cut and paste to friends in e-mails or laugh about at work, good mix of sports jokes and pop stuff...I'm excited to still be as happy after reading one as I was when I saw it posted for the first time in weeks. Thanks Bill.

I was incredibly pleased with the Ramblings. Probably his best work in months.

Ah, life is good when a new SG column gets posted.

I'd been getting a little jittery with the lack of updates since the Super Bowl.

Good to see the sports guy back to his old form. I just hope the intern contest doesn't turn into a crapfest liek the cartoons. For someone with as much pop culture awareness as BS, I can't believe he signed off on the cartoon idea. Hopefully he has learned from the ESPN Dream Job mess and will provide some worthwhile columns during the February sports doldrums.

I found myself laughing out loud at several parts... which has been rare as of late. I like that he covered such a wide range of topics. It gives me faith that he still has it in him to write a good column.

Looks like my Conner Peterson entry didn't make the Intern contest. Damn! I had such high hopes for that.

Something tells me that, even though he probably loved the Conner Petersen entry, the editors wouldn't allow that one.

Am I the only one who was completely confused by the A-Rod changing his name comment? What the hell is A-Guez? I don't even know how to pronounce it. Does it mean something, or did he just make something up randomly and say it should be A-Rod's new name, like P Diddy did?

I was baffled as well. Maybe A-Rod is dating someone and is considering taking on her last name ala Nomar Hamm.
Nomar Hamm... jeez, sounds like something you'd say after a third helping of spiral cut on Christmas Eve.
